The Truttyfores were running late, and Poppy was getting nervous. Today’s COBRA session was jam-packed, and they were expecting a huge number of KIT agents. Finally, the Truttyfores appeared wearing their matching “Opera or Bust” T-shirts.

“Kitties, kitties - we have put out lots of sardines and smelts for your little dance friends,” they said in unison.

They petted heads, and left in high spirits–singing as they went. “Whew, just in the nick of time,” said Poppy, Rosie and Willie. “I thought they would never leave. This is going to be tight!”

The whirring of helicopter blades could be heard in the distance, and soon spies were climbing up ropes into the meeting room. All the hammocks were filled, and then there was standing room only. The mood was just electric.

Rosie approached the podium. She was wearing a broad smile. “As you all know by now, we have been able to shut down Brutus-G’s Baltimore operation, and free the shelter kitties. Word has it that there were some very surprised Bad Cats,” said Rosie. “The last thing they expected was to wake up in a county lock-up.”

“Now, I’d like to call up Tully for a special spy award,” announced Rosie.

Tully grinned from ear to ear–and accepted a citation for her heroic conduct. She received a standing ovation for her bravery.

Then it was time to turn the meeting over to Willie and Poppy. They had important information to report on Brutus G-’s evil operation in the Amazon. Willie had been in constant contact with Vets Without Borders, and talked about the deadly Cat Pox virus that the Bad Cat Cartel was rumored to be developing. She also relayed concerns about the Furbain production that Brutus-G was keeping all to himself. Since this was the only drug to treat Cat Scratch Fever, this was a serious matter.

Poppy said, “Please direct your attention to a video feed that we have intercepted. We were able to use a special high resolution camera to clean up the images.”

All the kitties in the room let out a collective gasp. On the screen, the Bad Cats could be seen working in an underground laboratory. All of them toiled in white bio-hazard suits. This could only mean one thing. They were working with substances that were highly toxic, deadly, and contagious. This confirmed everyone’s worst fears about Brutus-G’s operation. He was producing the lethal Cat Pox virus.

Everyone started talking at once, so Poppy put on the feather boa, and restored order.

“We have a plan,” she said. “This calls for an undercover operation.”

Poppy and Willie explained that the plan was to send Rosie, Willie and Tully into the Amazon rainforest as “moles” to infiltrate the Bad Cat Cartel. They would be wearing wires and video feeds hidden in their tails, and would be scoping out his evil enterprise. The plan was to get a good look at Brutus-G’s Cat Pox virus, check out his Furbain operation, and report back to the KIT.

“Good,” said Poppy. “That’s settled.”

“Now before we close our meeting we will need some volunteers to represent COBRA in an upcoming K-SWAT competition,” Poppy said.
